1 of 3

After my dad had his first stroke his communication was limited. My mom, brother, and I could communicate pretty well with him but for others, it was a struggle. I can remember a lot of conversations that we had after this stroke. He would try to tell us something and we would go through a series of questions and guesses until we got it right. There were a few things that he could tell us with no problem. I love you. Call me again. I'm proud of you. These are a few of things that I had no doubt about what he was trying to say. He could also remember his social security number and could say it amazingly fast. If he said it slowly it wouldn't come out right. But quickly, no problem.
